Many people think that exercise alone will help them lose weight, but it takes a combination of calorie reduction AND increasing physical activity to see results.

As a trainer I can guide my clients to a healthier way of eating. I make suggestions on what types of food they should be consuming. Having them consider eating for fuel rather than comfort, eliminating or cutting down on alcohol consumption, recommending they eat at home more often and suggestions for weekly meal prep. I also refer them to a Registered Holistic Nutritionist if they want any deeper information or help with meal plans, supplements and their specific nutritional requirements.

Here are some eating tips to help you lose and/or maintain weight. Plus you know I’m going to tell you to move your body EVERY DAY and include cardio 3x/week, strength training 3x/week and get plenty of sleep!

  • Eat a high-protein breakfast
  • Say no to sugary drinks and fruit juice
  • Eat mostly whole, unprocessed foods
  • Watch your portion size
  • Eat slowly
  • Get a good night’s sleep
