Insights into personal training

I’m starting a series of posts with the theme of personal training insights so you get an idea of what I do when I’m not teaching fitness classes or running!

Personal Training Insights – Keeping it PERSONAL

As a PERSONAL trainer I have a PERSONAL connection with each client making my job both rewarding and challenging. I am sometimes a therapist, travel advisor, political sounding board (I’m very careful here), food advisor and of course, physical trainer. Making that one-on-one connection with someone is so important to ensure they feel confident when they are most vulnerable. I mean, who wants to feel threaten when you’re trying something new or physically challenging?

The rewards come with a loss of an inch of fat, the increase of an inch of muscle, the decreased recovery time between reps, the distance that was run or the comment about how good they feel. That’s my dessert!
